That is shockingly not unusual. I have heard of SO MANY KIDS getting exorcized for bedwetting. It's absurd.

I heard of a mother exorcising her little boy because he refused to use the potty. Can you imagine being forced to sit there while your mother screams "DEMON, I BIND THEE IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!" at you? Sometimes I wonder if these people must see demons lurking in their cereal in the morning.

I wonder if they need to be on some sort of medication. Wearing a straitjacket and locked in a padded room would be a plus.

Keep in mind that not all exorcisms involve screaming...although I have to admit that that one probably did, since his mother is probably one of those types who DOES see demons lurking in their cereal, behind their bushes, and on top of that magazine rack with the black covers over half the magazines. Seriously, though, I had to perform an exorcism when I was still a Christian(pagan friend who didn't take his ritual magic seriously enough)...if there are demons causing something, it's not too hard to figure out, and a child who isn't ready to use the potty...well...let's just say that I wouldn't believe that to be demon related unless his head spun around while he shat pea soup into his diaper.

Unfortunately for the child, this one did involve screaming. Poor kid will probably be in therapy until he's 50. Seriously, though, I had to perform an exorcism when I was still a Christian(pagan friend who didn't take his ritual magic seriously enough)...if there are demons causing something, it's not too hard to figure out...
Seriously, demonic possession should be easy to distinguish from other things. That makes it all the more worrying when people point to demons as the reason for things like bedwetting, migraines, or diabetes (and no, I'm not joking about that last one).

And I think I know who he would send the bill to (or at least who I would). Seriously, demonic possession should be easy to distinguish from other things. That type of thinking may have been acceptable in times before we had all this knowledge of the human body, but now...? As the old saying goes: "If ignorance is bliss than these people must have perpetual orgasms."

Oh my...be glad I didn't have any liquids in my mouth...I would have had to bill you for a new keyboard Seriously, demonic possession should be easy to distinguish from other things. I completely agree. It seems like the more "spirit-filled" a particular Christian is (e.g., the more they cling to things like "Baptism in the Holy Spirit" and faith healing), the less they believe in their own deity's power (or the more they believe in the devil's power...kind of a chicken/egg deal there, though). That makes it that much more refreshing when I meet a "spirit-filled" Christian who isn't a loon, but it makes me question the species' survival when I meet some of them.
