I just got an email from Bob....

Quote
Okay folks, move's complete inasmuch as we are now in Indy completely, wife and kids in our new house and a garage full of boxes.

I obviously also now have a working Internet connection.

News of the server: It is NOT dead. It is in fact quite alive. However, for some reason it is refusing to recognize it's network connection. I have a monkey on the ground back where it is in Albuquerque, and I think I know what may be wrong but he has been unavailable all weekend due to it being a holiday and all. So, I am hoping to have some good news by Monday night.

Again, the server and data on it appear to be just fine, from what my monkey can see, we just have no connection.

I'm so happy that I could dance, but I won't because it's 11:12 on a Sunday night and I don't want whoever lives below me to bang on my door.

But...

Grin YAY!! WE GET OUR TC BACK!!!!  Grin

(hopefully soon)

The person living below me wouldn't bang on the door, she'd just report me to the property manager.  She tells the property manager that my wife and I WALK too loud...I can only imagine what she'd do if we started dancing.

I guess I'm lucky that no one has done that to me yet.  Then again, I never met whoever lives there and the only time I ever saw anyone go into that apartment was last year...

Now that I think about it, I haven't heard that awful emo music coming from the apartment next door since I got back.  I wonder if he's still there.

It's apparently taking longer than Bob hoped.

I'm getting a different error message now, FWIW.  "Service unavailable" rather than ye olde browser-specific "cannot connect" page.

For .net I'm getting "The server at www.ecauldron.net is taking too long to respond."

Something else that I think I should point out: I've been getting something that says "PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 7C82CAA2" occasionally when I try to get to another page on this board.

That's apparently normal.  this server is NOT meant to handle the traffic we have, so sometimes it takes a nap on us.

Oh, okay.  As long as it's not serious (although it is annoying)

This backup board is on a free board server with probably 150-200 other boards. When it gets too busy, you get a weird PHP Access Violation error.
